About Dr. Vipin SIngh
Hello Everyone,
I am Dr Vipin Kumar Singh, a knee replacement surgeon in Varanasi. I got my early education from Varanasi, which was done by staying at my maternal grandfather's place.
After completing my primary education, I dreamed of going into the medical field, for which I prepared for competition and got selected in Allahabad Medical College after getting a good rank. During my MBBS, orthopaedic was the only branch I wanted to pursue. I worked hard for it, prepared for post-graduation, and got MS orthopaedic.
I did a lot of work in Orthopaedics from Jhansi and then went to Delhi after completing my post-graduation.
I worked for a few days in Delhi as Senior Resident at Bhagwan Mahavir Hospital and then returned to Varanasi in 2011 and started practicing in Fracture and Trauma.
Still, I didn't feel from anywhere in my heart that this was the work I wanted to do, and then after that, I decided to enter joint replacement.
I applied for a fellowship in many places and got a fellowship in two places. Then I left my practice and went to Ahmedabad. In 2011, I did a fellowship at Shalby Hospital Limited, where I had a good experience in knee replacement.
After completing my fellowship there, I went to Germany for a more extended fellowship and briefly to Switzerland. When it was time to return to India again, the question in my mind was whether to return to the fracture and trauma practice or continue to work in knee joint replacement only.
I was thinking this, and then I got a call from Shalby Hospital Limited to join as a Consultant, which I wanted too.
I joined there first as a Junior Consultant and then gradually became a Senior Consultant. During my stay at Shalby Hospital, I performed more than 12,000 knee replacements.
In 10 years, I taught only knee replacement work with excellent technique. When I went into knee transplant, I felt that God had made me for that, that when I had an interest in that work, I started doing it as my passion, and after that, I started coming to OPD everywhere in Varanasi. Most of the patients from Patna, Ranchi, Jamshedpur and Africa were operated on under me at Sahlby, and it brought great relief to my heart when they used to leave after blessing me well and happy.
Meanwhile, there were many achievements, and they started many fellowships under my guidance. I was also responsible for many knee joint replacements and provided training for new joint replacement surgeons.
I also gave them training, and many times I was called as a guest lecturer and guest surgeon in India and Africa, like being invited as a guest surgeon at BHU and Zambia University in Africa and Campaign Milli Institute in Tanzania and Ethiopia.
Overall, it was an experience that patients from Purvanchal came to us in Ahmedabad for knee replacement, so I felt they needed it in Purvanchal. So, I shifted to Purvanchal again and started knee replacement work after coming to Varanasi.
